Florida Agritourism

Southern Hill Farms is a family owned, working farm, operating year-round. We invite our community to enjoy our farm seasonally and participate in everything we have worked so hard to create. Your safety on the farm is our main goal and we ask that you always be aware of our safety rules and regulations that we have in place. We also ask that you remain respectful of our property, our crops, our family (including our SHF team members) and other guests on the farm at all times.

Under Florida law, an agritourism operator is not liable for injury or death of, or damage or loss to, a participant in an agritourism activity conducted at this agritourism location if such injury, death, damage, or loss results from the inherent risks of the agritourism activity. Inherent risks of agritourism activities include, among others, risks of injury inherent to land, equipment, and animals, as well as the potential for you to act in a negligent manner that may contribute to your injury, death, damage, or loss. You are assuming the risk of participating in this agritourism activity. Chapter 2013 – 179, Section 570.96

What is Florida agritourism?

As farmers across the state of Florida look to diversify their farms with hopes of continuing the family business, many private land owners are opening their gates to the public for them to enjoy u-pick crops, seasonal events, tours, and other farm activities. With an increased demand from the public to interact and get to know their local farms that harvest the produce, livestock and other crops being grown in their communities, these agritourism operations are an educational and entertainment benefit to people of all ages.
